Created for your continuous security and connectivity.
Your network doesn't stop at the front door, and neither should the thing protecting it. The Cosinium product family is built to sit in all the places required to protect your data and network: at the edge of your site, between your internal devices, across the encrypted mesh VPN your devices live on, at the boundary of AI workloads, and on whatever Wi-Fi you end up using.
“Truth is ever to be found in the simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things.”
― Isaac Newton
Technologies we deal with can be overly complex - simplifying them for your use is what we strive to do.
More information will be provided as we start releasing each product, and make them available for use.
What we do
//Build the things that we ship
We design and develop our own software when an existing product doesn't work well enough. It comes from the principle that tools need sharpening, and sometimes that means a complete overhaul. QuicN, dhcpc-rs, the PPPoE eXpress Path and firewall service monitoring all came out of that.
//Selectively robust features
A product that tries to do everything ends up with an escalating the number issues from the features it adds, and that's when security gaps happen. The software and capabilities we enable are a smaller set, and that set goes through frequent regression testing. Keeping it small also allows us to focus on making them simpler to interface with and be managed.
//Best-performing algorithm
We benchmark everything we write against the best alternative we can find, and ship whichever wins on speed, size, CPU and memory. On rare occasions, that also means we drop our own invention. With compute, memory and energy prices soaring, we recognise the need to keep resource usage as low as possible - even the design of this website has gone through the same telemetry tests that we enforce on our programs.
//Develop for what is coming
AI is already here and quantum computing is on the way. Cosinium was not created for what has already happened, but to be ready for the security challenges that come next. It is designed to sit in front of AI workloads and both internal and external security risks; to shield not just your larger computer setups, but also each individual container, IoT, mobile and smart device. We created Cosineq and QuicN to be post-quantum ready today, and not only to give connectivity but to run at full speed. For the coming multi-gigabit internet access, PPPoE-XP gives you the assurance that it will run beyond what the service providers offer.
Cosinium - a family of advanced security products
Information technology security problems cost people, businesses and governments more every year, and sometimes the cost is catastrophic. Because there isn't a single way to solve it, Cosinium targets the parts we can, through software and hardware. Each one does a job the others cannot, and each is built on the same idea: be very good at the function it was designed for.
The parts that form Cosinium are the foundation for additional building blocks for the continuum of your security and connectivity. In some cases we see a product's deficiencies and either improve it or write our own. For example, we developed dhcpc-rs to replace dhcpcd because we needed faster responses, and reactions to upstream network changes that behave exactly as expected.
Cosinium OS
Security Platform
The firewall operating system that keeps your network yours, at home, in the office, in the cloud and wherever you take it.
- Broad compatibility whether running on small appliances, cloud VMs, containers or commodity servers
- Low resource usage and high performance: a PPPoE eXpress Path that reaches 94–97% of the wire
- A JSON-RPC API, a focused web UI and a real CLI
Cosineq
Mesh Network
/koʊˈsiːnɪk/ • A post-quantum zero-trust mesh VPN that isolates every connection between devices and services. Complete control, with all the pieces rolled out in your own infrastructure.
- Active-active highly-available controller cluster
- Post-quantum everywhere: server sets, relays and STUN
- Zero-trust identities to ensure the who and what is connecting
- One controller, multiple overlay networks
QuicN
Post-Quantum VPN
The QUIC-based Post-Quantum VPN protocol that enables the Cosineq architecture. High performance and small enough to live in a container.
- Post-quantum X25519MLKEM768 key exchange on every network: it works today and protects you in the future
- 4.5x less memory than wireguard-go
- The protocol with built-in ACLs, relay encapsulation and service advertisement
WiShield
Travel Guard
A travel companion that ensures your security.
- Your own security shield, wherever you are
- Identify anything that is a risk
- Runs the complete Cosinium operating system
Hardware
Built to Match
Boards tuned for the software, and software that runs perfectly well on hardware you already own.
- Wireless access point with 2.5 GbE as the slowest port, plus 10+ Gbps-class boards
- Bootable images for EFI hardware, VMs and cloud instances
- Or a container on an existing Linux host
