About Cosinium
Security-related exploits have increased markedly over the past few years because of frequent automated attacks. Wi-Fi routers, IoT devices, security cameras and smart TVs are some of the things that have shown the scale of breaches, many of them caused by lax programming, bundled broken software or a complete disregard for security. Exploiting them exposes not only their own data but also whatever they have access to - which includes your online accounts, business or home. Products that are supposed to safeguard you have failed because their narrow focus gives them an incomplete view of the attack surface.
These are some of the reasons why we launched Cosinium, a startup based in Brisbane, Australia, focussed on security across both software and hardware. The continuum of your security is held through multiple layers of protection when the two are integrated. Cosinium forms the building blocks that make it possible to expand into wider protection, and each piece passes quality checks before it is included.
There is no one-size-fits-all product that suits everyone. Cosinium is about providing an alternative; something that is high quality, runs reliably, needs little maintenance, and make complex setups easier to use. This applies to everything that went into Cosinium's products, from the way things are set up to every user interface and API we provide. It's different to what's out there, but it's not unfamiliar.

Bio
Leon Dang
Leon's software development experience spans core technologies in a broad range of products, having worked on the operating systems of companies leading their fields: IPSO in the IP Routing Group at Nokia, ONTAP platform at NetApp and ESXi hardware platforms at VMware. He has always been hands-on with the direct designing and coding of operating system kernels, network stacks, hardware device drivers, platform bringup, software services, virtualisation, firewalls, user apps, performance algorithms, VPN protocols and reverse engineering.
He has contributed to various open-source efforts. He wrote the code in FreeBSD's bhyve hypervisor that allows Windows to run as a guest, including the USB-XHCI, tablet, RFB and UEFI-ROM emulations. The code now lives on in other operating systems that adopt bhyve. More recently, Leon worked with OpenVPN to add multi-peer connections in their Windows DCO driver, which provides gigabits of throughput over fast links.
